Alec Bradley Increasing Prices in February

Alec Bradley has informed its retailers that it will increase the prices of most of its cigars effective Feb. 3, 2023.

Per halfwheel estimates, the average of the changes amounts to 5.47 percent, though three of the company’s lines are not increasing but a handful of SKUs will increase by more than 10 percent.

The following lines are not increasing:

• Alec Bradley Double Broadleaf
• Alec Bradley Occidental Reserve
• Alec & Bradley Blind Faith

In addition, the limited edition Filthy Hooligans, Shamrocks, and the regular production Alec Bradley Prensado Corona Gorda will remain at current prices. Furthermore, Alec Bradley says it is not increasing the prices of its accessories.

Most of the increases range between 4-7 percent, though some lines are affected more. Most, but not all of the sizes of MAXX and Spirit of Cuba are increasing by at least 10 percent, with the largest percentage of increase, 10.9 percent, going to Spirit of Cuba Robusto in the bundle packaging option.

It is widely expected that most cigar companies will be increasing prices in or around early 2023, most of which are likely to be announced in the first quarter of the year as that is when most companies traditionally make these announcements. Reasons for these increases include increased costs for tobacco and packaging, increased competition for labor, general inflation, and mirroring competitors’ price adjustments.
