Ferio Tego’s exclusive release for retailers that are members of the Tobacconists’ Association of America (TAA) has shipped to stores.

On Friday, the Ferio Tego Timeless TAA 2023 began shipping to stores. It’s a 6 x 50 toro that is made entirely of Nicaraguan tobacco and rolled at Plasencia Cigars S.A. in Estelí, Nicaragua.

“The 2023 blend is in line with the 2022 release, a dense and intense Nicaraguan puro that incorporates aged long-filler tobaccos from the Jalapa region of Nicaragua with a gorgeous wrapper grown in Esteli,” said Michael Herklots, co-founder of Ferio Tego, in a press release when the cigar was announced in March. “It is a blend that is complex and assertive and is deliberate in its development from start to finish creating very well-balanced and highly engaging experience.”

The MSRP is set at $16.50 per cigar and it is limited to 800 bundles of 10 cigars.

The TAA is a membership group, which also includes approximately 40 manufacturers, that gathers annually to discuss issues facing the industry and retailers, as well as to have its annual trade show, a unique event that works on a group buying format in order to secure exclusive deals for these generally high-volume merchants.

During the event—which took place March 26-30, at Casa de Campo in the Dominican Republic—the organization holds two selling events, one known as the Dream Machine where the retailers collectively order to secure larger discounts, while the other is a more traditional trade show. Typically, around a dozen manufacturers release new exclusive cigars for the retail members of the organization under the TAA Exclusive Series Program banner. Those manufacturers agree to give a portion of the proceeds to the organization, a minimum of 50 cents per cigar.

TAA 2023 exclusive cigars from Espinosa Premium Cigars and Joya de Nicaragua have already begun shipping. In addition, CLECrowned Heads, E.P. Carrillo, Forged Cigar Co., General Cigar Co.Gurkha, J.C. NewmanKristoff, La Palina, Miami Cigar & Co.My Father, Plasencia 1865, Rocky Patel, Quality Importers Trading Co., Quesada, Tatuaje and Villiger Cigars North America have announced their TAA 2023 releases.

Ferio Tego is distributed by Davidoff of Geneva USA.

Update (May 23, 2023) — The original version of this article listed the MSRP at $15, it is $16.50.
