Viaje Announces Roots as Sixth Craft Series Release

Viaje worked with Joya de Nicaragua for its newest cigar, which makes for an interesting piece of Viaje trivia: Joya produced the first Viaje cigars. The arrangement didn’t last for long. Since, Viaje has become a brand best associated with Raíces Cubanas and AGANORSA, though it’s worked with a few Dominican factories as well. Viaje is oftentimes coy with information, seemingly a way to build mystery and intrigue. Whatever the case: Joya was the first, Joya will be the next. More trivia: Andre Farkas, Viaje’s founder, said that when Drew Estate took over Joya de Nicaragua’s U.S. distribution, “he was in the way” and so he decided to leave. Before that, Quesada was Joya’s distributor. Quesada has since gone onto make a few Viaje releases.

Hey, a sub-$8 new cigar. I don’t have any more thoughts other than prices are what they are that $8 is now a price point that is decidedly a “value cigar” or a very small cigar.
