M. K. & Söhne, the new German distribution company from the Kohlhase family, has announced the first two brands that it will be representing: Gilbert de Montsalvat and Skel Ton.

Gilbert de Montsalvat is a 15-year-old Swiss brand from Raymondo Bernasconi. Previously, Gilbert de Montsalvat was distributed in Germany by Kohlhase & Kopp. Last summer, brothers Adam and Daniel Kohlhase announced that they were leaving Kohlhase & Kopp after spending nearly three decades at the company. They launched M. K. & Söhne, whose team also includes their sister, Katharina.

Skel Ton was launched by Tonio Neugebauer in 2016. The company’s cigars are rolled by the Plasencia family.

“We are very fortunate to work in an industry where the owners are passionate and dedicated,” said the Kohlhase brothers in a press release. “They are people who go beyond their own limits. Who want to make a difference. Who have a story to tell. Who have given up their secure job to pursue their passion. This both impresses and motivates us. Tonio and Raymondo are no exception in this regard. Being able to work with such talented people is gift. They are the beating heart of our industry.
That is why we are delighted that Gilbert de Montsalvat and Skel Ton have made this start. The brands have considerable potential on the German market.”

The company says that both brands will be available for order beginning next week.
