Nearly a month after it was announced, the Plasencia Year of the Dragon is beginning to ship to stores.

Today, the company began shipping the cigars to U.S. stores. This year’s release, which celebrates the lunar new year and the associated symbol, is a 6 1/4 x 54 torpedo extra that is made entirely of tobacco grown by the Plasencia family in Nicaragua.

The MSRP is set at $45 per cigar, and production was limited to 3,000 boxes of 10 cigars, which Plasencia says are already sold out to retailers.

“The dragon is an animal that perfectly represents our family’s drive for excellence,” said Nestor Andrés Plasencia, ceo of Plasencia Cigars, in a press release when the cigar was announced last month. “We look forward to celebrating the Chinese New Year with the public via this special offering.”

Note: The following shows the various Plasencia Lunar New Year vitolas. Some of these cigars may have been released after this post was originally published. The list was last updated on Jan. 30, 2024.
