Since his company’s debut in 2013, former NASA project manager Omar de Frias’ Fratello brand has seemed to reach new heights every year (no pun intended.) His offerings at the 2021 PCA Convention & Trade Show continue that trend, including a former European exclusive vitola moving to the U.S. market, the largest ring gauge so far in his Arlequín line and the company’s first flavored cigar.

The booth is the same as the one that the company debuted at the 2o19 IPCPR Convention & Trade Show, with an attractive but compact display in the middle and large backdrop to one side that includes the Fratello logo.

I have been smoking cigars for over eight years. A documentary wedding photographer by trade, I spent seven years as a photojournalist for the Dallas Morning News and the Fort Worth Star Telegram. I started the cigar blog SmokingStogie in 2008 after realizing that there was a need for a cigar blog with better photographs and more in-depth information about each release. SmokingStogie quickly became one of the more influential cigar blogs on the internet, known for reviewing preproduction, prerelease, rare, extremely hard-to-find and expensive cigars. I am a co-founder of halfwheel and now serve as an editor for halfwheel.
