At the upcoming 2021 Tobacco Plus Expo, Fratello Cigars will be releasing a new five-cigar sampler thatwill contain new sizes of two existing blends and bring a regionally released line to consumers around the country.

The Fratello New Fresh Pack will offer the following five lines in a 6 x 50 toro vitola:

  • Fratello Oro
  • Fratello The Texan
  • Fratello Blu
  • Fratello Rosso
  • Fratello Verde

For the Fratello Oro and Fratello The Texan, the 6 x 50 toro will be a new vitola, while the 6 x 50 size has been part of the other three lines—known as the Fratello Camo bundles—since their debut in June 2020. The Fratello Camo line debuted at the 2020 Tobacco Plus Expo in January, but their shipping was delayed due to the COVID -19 pandemic. All of the lines are produced at the La Aurora Cigar Factory in the Dominican Republic.

“When we saw the success of the Space Fresh Pack we were blown away at the reception by our consumers,” said Omar de Frias, founder of Fratello, via a press release. “Now a greater number of people will get a chance to try The Texan and our highly rated Camo alongside one of our bestselling cigars the Fratello Oro.”

The Fratello Space Fresh Pack shipped in September 2019 and included a 6 x 50 vitola of the Bianco II and Classico II lines, as well as two new lines, the Arlequin and Sorella.

The Fratello Oro debuted in November 2016 as the third blend in Fratello’s portfolio and uses an Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper over a Cameroon binder and fillers from the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua. It was the first time the company used an Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper, as well as the first line that de Frias produced in his home country.

Fratello’s The Texan was released in October 2019 as a limited edition exclusive to retailers in the Lone Star State. The cigar was initially offered in an enormous 7 1/8 x 58 vitola, with a blend that featured an Ecuadorian HVA wrapper, a Sumatran binder and four fillers: Dominican piloto cubano ligero, Dominican andullo, ligero from Estelí, Nicaragua and ligero from Pennsylvania.

The Fratello New Fresh Pack has an MSRP of $25 and is scheduled to ship to retailers in September.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for Major League Baseball, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
