Like it did last year, Asylum Cigars has taken its massive 9 x 90 April Fools’ cigar and dressed it up in packaging inspired by the symbol on the Chinese zodiac calendar. For 2024, that means dragon themes.

The Asylum April Fools’ 2024 Year of the Dragon is a 9 x 90 Honduran puro, the same blend as the other releases of the April Fools’ cigars. This year’s release comes in red tubos with gold font; the tubos themselves are sold to retailers in a tray of six, which appears to also double as an ashtray.

Each cigar has an MSRP of $42.36. Production numbers have not been announced, but this is an annual limited edition release.

“The Asylum cigar brand is meant to be fun and experimental,” said Tom Lazuka, co-founder of Asylum, in a press release. “The April Fools blend is not for the faint of heart. It is truly a powerhouse of a cigar with very bold flavors. We look forward to presenting the April Fools 2024 at the PCA in Las Vegas.”

Given that April 1 is just weeks away, the cigars will be heading to stores very soon.

Davidoff, Drew Estate, El Septimo, General Cigar Co., Gurkha, Habanos S.A. JM Tobacco, La GaleraOliva, Maya Selva,  Plasencia, Rocky Patel, United Cigars and Vega Fina have also announced Year of the Dragon-themed cigars.
