Viaje has begun shipping a new batch of three of its Zombie blends: the Zombie Green, Zombie Red and Zombie Antidote.

This marks the first release of the Viaje Zombie Green and Zombie Red since April 2022, when both were shipped without an announcement from the company. Those cigars used the same 5 x 52 perfecto vitola which the line adopted in 2013, with the MSRP set at $12.10 per cigar.

Viaje has not released details about this year’s releases, including price and blend details, but previous Zombie Green releases have used a criollo wrapper, while the Viaje Zombie Red meant the cigar uses a maduro wrapper. They appear to come in the same black, slide-lid, 20-count boxes as previous releases.

Notably, the company did not include pictures of the Viaje Zombie Black in Tuesday’s social media posts, a version that uses a natural wrapper. That does not mean that the cigar isn’t coming out, however, as Viaje is known for shipping cigars to its retailers without always announcing them on its social media channels.

Rounding out the release is the latest installment of the Viaje Zombie Antidote, which debuted in 2014 and has not been released since 2021. The cigar is considered a follow-up to the Zombie Series and comes in a 6 1/4 x 44 lonsdale vitola. The blend of the 2021 version was confirmed as a Nicaraguan puro, while pricing was set at $8.92 per cigar and it was offered in 24-count plastic jars. The company has not yet announced pricing for this year’s release.

The company has not yet announced when the cigars will ship to stores, though one retailer commented on the company’s Instagram post and said it expects to have them in hand next week.

Update (Jan. 17, 2024) — A representative from the company said that all the details from the previous release remain the same for this release. The company has still not yet announced a shipping date.

Update (Jan. 24, 2024) — Pricing info added.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for Major League Baseball, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
