CAO’s highly regarded line based around Brazilian Bragança tobacco sees its latest installment get two years of aging prior to release.

The CAO Amazon Basin, one of the most heralded cigars within the General Cigar Co. portfolio, will return to stores on Jan. 9. Like tequila, the “Extra Añejo” part of the name means these cigars were aged for longer, specifically, two years in a Spanish cedar-lined aging room in Nicaragua.

The unique boxes features lights. Notably, General Cigar Co. is using orange LEDs instead of the blue color that has been used for the first two releases.

CAO’s latest cigar draws on a range of Brazilian-grown tobacco, using it for the wrapper, binder and part of the filler.

While not a Brazilian puro, the new BX3 uses tobaccos from Brazil for its wrapper, its binder and part of its filler blend.

The name “Firewalker” comes from a process called chincagre, where tobacco is buried in volcano soils. It’s the second cigar in General Cigar Co.’s CAO Arcana Series, which highlights unique methods used to create the tobaccos inside of the cigars.

Canada is getting its own CAO release, and it uses Canadian-grown tobacco in the filler.
