Habanos S.A. Shows Off San Cristóbal de La Habana 25 Aniversario

In 1999, the relatively new Habanos S.A. launched the San Cristóbal de La Habana brand. That means 2024 marks the 25th anniversary of the line, which celebrates Cuba’s capital of Havana.

Yesterday, the company showed off the new San Cristóbal de La Habana 25 Aniversario, a new limited edition humidor that will contain 50 cigars that measure 6 4/9 (164mm) x 54. Interestingly, it’s the same size as the San Cristóbal de La Habana Magnífico, an Edición Regional cigar for Andorra, which arrived in the principality last year. Habanos S.A. has used this size for dozens of other releases over the year, notably Cohiba and Montecristo Sublimes and the Edmundo Dantes Conde 54.

Habanos S.A.’s marketing material around the release makes it clear that it will be quite difficult to get as there will be just 200 numbered humidors. That said, it has not disclosed when they will be released or how much they will cost. The company says the bands—the updated glossy San Cristóbal band and the gold-on-black Exclusivo Cuba band—will not be used on other cigars.

Habanos S.A. announced this cigar as part of the annual Festival del Habano XXIV, which is taking place in Havana, Cuba, this week. Historically, the company uses the event as a time to announce its upcoming releases, some of which may not ship to stores until after this year. Pricing and release date for this cigar have not been announced.
