ADV & McKay Cigars has announced that it will be adding a new vitola to two of its lines in the near future.

Via social media, the company announced that the ADVentura The Conqueror line will be getting a 6 x 54 toro, while the ADVentura The Royal Return King’s Gold will be adding a 6 x 44 corona that is slated to arrive in July.

The ADVentura The Conqueror line debuted in July 2019, when ADV & McKay made its formal U.S. debut at the IPCPR Convention & Trade Show, an event now known as the PCA Convention & Trade Show. It uses an Ecuadorian habano 2000 wrapper, Ecuadorian Sumatra binder, and fillers from the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua. It was initially released in four sizes, two of which were only available in the U.S. and two of which were exclusives to the European market:

  • ADVentura The Conqueror Comandante (5 x 50)
  • ADVentura The Conqueror El Capitán (6 x 60)
  • ADVentura The Conqueror Cañonero (7 x 60) — Not Available in U.S.
  • ADVentura The Conqueror Marinero (5 x 52) — Not Available in U.S.

A limited edition 7 x 40 lancero has also been released, once in December 2019 and again in December 2020.

As for the ADVentura The Royal Return King’s Gold, it was released in August 2020, with a blend that features a Connecticut broadleaf wrapper, Mexican San Andrés binder, and filler tobaccos from the Dominican Republic, Nicaragua and the United States. It was released alongside a cigar called The Royal Return Queen’s Pearls, and both with both cigars using tobacco that had been aged for a minimum five years before being rolled, with the cigars being given at least four months of aging before being sent to retailers. It debuted in two vitolas:

  • ADVentura The Royal Return King’s Gold Robusto (5 x 52)
  • ADVentura The Royal Return King’s Gold Toro (6 x 54)

The Corona size will debut at the upcoming PCA Convention & Trade Show, with an MSRP of $13 per cigar, and offered in 20-count boxes. It is a regular production addition to the lineup, and scheduled to ship to retailers the week after the trade show concludes.

Update (June 3, 2021) — Additional information about shipping dates, pricing and other details were announced today and added to the story. This was originally published on June 1.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury, the G-League's Valley Suns, and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for Major League Baseball, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
