Cohiba (Cuban)

Imagine a Cohiba version of the Trinidad Esmeralda. Okay, now imagine it with an unnecessary foot band.

That would be $600 per cigar.

Announced in 2021, the Cohiba Ambar has arrived in at least one country.

Each humidor will come with 55 Cohiba Lanceros, regular production cigars with special secondary bands, in each of these Elie Bleu-humidors. They will only be sold in Asia.

The new machine-made option is scheduled to be available for sale next month.

Be prepared to pay a premium on top of the already high prices of this new limited edition.

This is the second time in the last year that a new Cuban Cohiba has debuted with a price point of $300 per cigar.

For the first time since 2009, Habanos S.A. has selected Cohiba to be the Gran Reserva release. No word on pricing or a release date.

In December 2022, a U.S. trademark court ruled in favor of Cubatabaco, the Cuban cigar monopoly, over its near 30-year dispute with General Cigar Co. over who should own the U.S. trademark for Cohiba. Now, General is firing back with a new lawsuit.

The Siglo de Oro is also the first Cuban cigar to feature an NFC in the box.
