Sinistro has announced that it has implemented a price increase on a portion of its portfolio, with several of its core lines being affected.

For the affected lines, the increase works out to about five percent. The affected lines are:

  • Mr. Black
  • Mr. White
  • Mr. Red
  • Habana Vieja
  • Honor Among Thieves
  • The Last Cowboy Connecticut

There are nine lines that are not increasing in price, namely:

  • El Burro Connecticut
  • El Burro Corojo
  • El Burro Maduro
  • Mr. Desflorado
  • The Last Barbarian
  • Mr. Candela
  • The Last Cowboy Maduro
  • Destro Edicion Limitada
  • NV

Sinistro is still deciding whether it will change the prices of the Mr. White Gold line. As of now, its price has not yet changed.

The company says that the increase is due to rising costs in a number of areas, including packaging such as bands and boxes, the cost of labor, cost of transportation, and even the cost of fertilizer for the tobacco. The company noted that this is only its third price increase since 2012.

While a select group of companies—notably Altadis U.S.A. and Davidoff of Geneva USA—announced price increases in Q3 and earlier in Q4, most cigar companies announce their price increases around the new year. Below is a list of companies that have announced whether they will have a price increase heading into 2024.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for Major League Baseball, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
