Registration For Cohiba 55th Anniversary Celebration Opens This Saturday

Those wanting to attend the Cohiba 55th Anniversary celebration in Havana, Cuba next month can register for the event beginning Saturday, Aug. 20.

Habanos S.A. has announced that it will conduct registration from Aug. 20-31 for the event, which takes place Sept. 7-9 in Havana.

In doing so, it has also announced pricing for the events.

• Sept. 7 (Wednesday) Welcome Evening, El Laguito Protocol Room — $650
• Sept. 8 (Thursday) Visit to El Laguito factory, the primary factory for Cohiba and Trinidad — $100
• Sept. 9 (Friday) Gala Dinner & Humidor Auction at Pabexpo Fairgrounds — $1,100

These prices are very similar to the prices of events during the annual Festival del Habano that typically takes place in February of each year. Habanos S.A. has previously said that it expects around 1,000 people at the welcome evening.

In addition, there is a $100 fee to participate in the humidor auction on Sept. 9.

All prices are in USD, but payments will need to be made in Euros.

Like the company’s annual Festival del Habano, a larger event held in February, the week will be capped off by an auction of “very special humidors,” with proceeds donated to the Cuban health system. The last humidor auction, held during the 2020 Festival del Habano, generated €4.27 million ($4.71 million at the time), more than half of which was for a Cohiba humidor.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Habanos S.A. has not held a humidor auction since then, that said, it previewed a special Cohiba 55 anniversary humidor last year.
