Perdomo Cigars has informed its retailers that it will be implementing a price increase as of Jan. 1, 2024 due to an increase in manufacturing costs.

A total of eight lines will be seeing an increase as of the new year, seven of which will see their wholesale price go up by 25 cents per cigar, while the eighth line will be going up by 10 cents per cigar. The lines getting the 25 cents per cigar increase are:

  • Perdomo Double Aged 12 Year Vintage
  • Perdomo 20th Anniversary
  • Perdomo Reserve 10th Anniversary
  • Perdomo Habano Bourbon Barrel-Aged
  • Perdomo Lot 23
  • Perdomo Humidified Bags
  • Perdomo Inmenso Seventy

The Perdomo Fresco will see its wholesale price increase by 10 cents per cigar.

The net effect to consumers will vary, as many states impose their tobacco tax based on the wholesale price of a cigar. For instance, New York’s tax rate is 75 percent of the wholesale price, while in Kansas and Missouri, it is just 10 percent of the wholesale price.

The recently released Perdomo 30th Anniversary line will not be seeing an increase.

While a select group of companies—notably Altadis U.S.A. and Davidoff of Geneva USA—announced price increases in Q3 and earlier in Q4, most cigar companies announce their price increases around the new year. Below is a list of companies that have announced whether they will have a price increase heading into 2024.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury, the G-League's Valley Suns, and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for Major League Baseball, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
