The new Montecristo 1935 Anniversary Edición Diamante line from Altadis U.S.A. has begun shipping to stores.
Blend-wise, it’s a Nicaraguan puro that uses a hybrid wrapper grown in Jalapa, a criollo-seed binder from Ometepe and fillers from Estelí. This blend traces its roots back to the Montecristo 1935 Anniversary Nicaragua, developed by Abdel Fernández and Rafael Nodal—head of product capability for Tabacalera USA. The 1935 Anniversary Nicaragua, released in 2020, is considered the stronger blend compared to the new Edición Diamante.
Altadis U.S.A. has begun shipping four of the six sizes to select stores:
- Montecristo 1935 Anniversary Edición Diamante Robusto (5 x 54) — $22.86 (Box of 10, $228.60)
