The newest release in the company’s bat-themed Muricelago line takes flight today. If the name sounds familiar, it was made famous in a movie nearly 30 years ago.

The ORT’s release means that all six planned cigars have been released, each representing one of Cuba’s six original provinces. Like its predecessors, it features distinctive artwork by Edin Gutierrez celebrating Cuba’s easternmost original province.

The Murcielago line gets a new blend with a lighter Ecuadorian Connecticut-seed wrapper. That wrapper and the white bands that the cigar wears earned it the nickname “the white bat,” while its name comes from a fictional white bat in a 1995 movie.

The Montecristo 1935 Anniversary Nicaragua is made at AJ Fernandez’s San Lotano Factory. This new 5 x 54 vitola is shipping to stores today.

It’s the first line extension to the company’s Lawmen Series. It will make it debut at the OKC Cigar Bash in late September.
