Next month, Matilde Cigars Co.’s Limited Exposure No. 1 line will be getting its third size, as the company has announced plans to release a 5 x 50 robusto vitola at the 2023 PCA Convention & Trade Show.
The blend of the cigar remains the same, with a Mexican San Andrés wrapper over a Dominican binder and a mix of Dominican piloto, corojo, and HVA fillers. The line is produced at TABACALERA LA iSLA in the Dominican Republic.
The Matilde Limited Exposure No. 1 Robusto will be priced at $9.50 per cigar and offered in 20-count boxes, with just 600 boxes produced for a total of 12,000 cigars. It is scheduled to begin shipping to stores by the end of July.
It will join the original 6 x 50 toro that debuted in 2021 and the 6 x 44 lonsdale that was added in 2022. Both of those vitolas will also be getting an additional release, with 600 boxes of the toro and 500 boxes of the lonsdale being released, with the toro priced at $10.50 per cigar and the lonsdale priced at $8.75 per cigar. Like the robusto, both of those vitolas come in 20-count boxes.
Matilde also offers the Limited Exposure No. 2, which debuted in 2022 and uses an Ecuadorian corojo wrapper over a Dominican binder and filler.
