Hoyo de Monterrey Souvenir de Luxe Hitting Stores

There’s a new cigar in Cuba’s Línea Retro series that is beginning to arrive on shelves in Europe.

The Hoyo de Monterrey Souvenir de Luxe has arrived in Andorra and will ship to select retailers in Switzerland during the week of June 6.

The Hoyo de Monterrey Souvenir de Luxe is part of Habanos S.A.’s Línea Retro Collection, smaller cigars that are sold in tins of five with packaging reminiscent of that sold in the 1970s. Like the other Línea Retro cigars, the Souvenir de Luxe measures 5 1/8 (129mm) x 42. In Switzerland, it will retail for CHF 77.5 ($85.53) per pack of five, roughly $17.10 per cigar based on current exchange rates.

This is believed to be the fourth Línea Retro cigar joining the H. Upmann Regalías, Partagás Capitols and Romeo y Julieta Club Kings.

In Switzerland, the Souvenir de Luxe will ship along with the new Partagás Aliados, which measures 6 7/12 (167mm) x 45, a new vitola known as Delirios. It’s a cigar that Habanos S.A. has designated as exclusive to retailers that are either Habanos Specialists or La Casa del Habano franchises. In Switzerland, the Aliados will be sold for CHF 50 per cigar ($55.18) or CHF 1,000 ($1,103.67) per box of 20 cigars. The Aliados debuted in Italy last month.

Intertabak AG, the Swiss distributor of Cuban cigars, says it will ship both cigars to La Casa del Habano stores during the week of June 6 and then ship both cigars to Swiss Habanos Specialist stores the week of June 13. Both cigars will be sold worldwide with the exception of the U.S.
