December 12, 2012 (Havana) — Habanos, SA  has launched the new Hoyo de Monterrey Epicure de Luxe created especially for La Casa del Habano franchises, consisting of over 140 stores worldwide.

Hoyo de Monterrey is one of the most historic brands of Habanos. It owes its origin to the plantation of the same name located in San Juan y Martinez, in the heart of the Vuelta Abajo, Pinar del Rio, Cuba.

At the Hoyo de Monterrey plantation, one of the most famous Vegas de Primera, there is the famous inscription located on its front door: “Hoyo de Monterrey. José Gener. 1860”.

The mild flavor of its blend makes it an attractive option for those who like a lighter cigar strength, delicate and aromatic, with great elegance and complexity.

The Corona Doble is a standout size of the brand, and the series is also distinguished by its small and medium Le Hoyo sizes. Then there is the prestigious Epicure Series with vitolas No 1 and No 2, which was expanded on in 2008 with the Epicure Especial, which now joins the Epicure de Luxe in this special production for La Casa del Habano.

The galera vitola selected for this production is the Magic, 52 x 115mm, one of the most appreciated by Habanos smokers who have occasion to taste it in the Hoyo de Monterrey blendwith its unique aroma and flavor.

This special production contains 10 Epicure de Luxe, presented in a sliding lid box characteristic of this line. All Habanos have been made entirely by hand with long filler by experienced cigar factories in Cuba.

Those seeking the Habanos lovers of elegant taste and aroma of the brand, this band will be available in the coming weeks in La Casa del Habano stores worldwide.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for MLB.com, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
