While not an annual tradition, if Davidoff has a new Winston Churchill limited edition, it typically is released in January. That’s what will happen this week.

On Thursday, Jan. 9, retailers are expected to begin selling the new Davidoff Winston Churchill Limited Edition 2025 The Artist, a 7 x 48 Churchill that uses an Ecuadorian wrapper over a Mexican binder and fillers from the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua. Like the recently-released Year of the Snake, the cigar uses Dominican tobaccos from the Martín García area of the Dominican Republic.

The MSRP appears to be $49 per cigar and the cigar comes in boxes of 10.

Images of the packaging show that the company has leaned heavily into The Artist theme. The vista of each box features an image of a painting done by Churchill, “Cork Trees Near Mimizan.” Inside, the cigars are covered by a piece of wood that is designed to mimic a paint pallet.

When Davidoff revamped its Winston Churchill line in 2015, it introduced what it called six faces of Churchill, each recognizing a different facet of the man’s life: the aristocrat, the artist, the commander, the raconteur, the statesman and the traveler. This will be the fifth year to get a limited edition Winston Churchill release but only the third to explicitly use one of those themes.

In addition to the new limited edition, Davidoff is adding two new Winston Churchill humidor colorways. The humidor models themselves are Davidoff’s longstanding Primos and Ambassador sizes, both of which have been used for other Winston Churchill humidors over the years.

The smaller humidor, the Davidoff Winston Churchill The Artist Primos Humidor, is designed to hold 25-35 cigars. It has a dark gray color with Churchill’s silhouette in yellow. The Primos measures 10.98 inches x 9.41 x 4.25 and uses an oak exterior. The inside is made of anigre wood and contains one Davidoff Slim Regulator, a humidifier along with four dividers.

There’s also the larger Davidoff Winston Churchill The Artist Ambassador Humidor, which is blue. It measures 15.1 inches x 9.45 x 5.63, rated to hold 70-80 cigars. Its exterior is made of black tulipwood, while the interior uses anigre wood. The Ambassador humidor comes with one Davidoff Slim regulator and a removable tray.
