Davidoff has released its latest limited edition store exclusive, the Davidoff Exclusive Tampa Florida Sun Grown, which is available at its Davidoff of Geneva – since 1911 location in Tampa, Fla.
The cigar is built around Florida Sun Grown tobacco, which is being grown by Jeff Borysiewicz, who partnered with Davidoff to open the Tampa flagship store in late 2015. Borysiewicz also owns Corona Cigar Co.
“We wanted to bring a whole new dimension to the portfolio of Limited Edition Davidoff Tampa cigars, so we challenged Davidoff master blender Eladio Diaz to blend our exclusive Florida Sun Grown tobacco with the dark, robust varieties of tobaccos that he uses in the Davidoff Nicaragua and Yamasá family of cigars,” Borysiewicz said in a press release.
The Davidoff Exclusive Tampa Florida Sun Grown is a 6 x 52 belicoso that uses Florida Sun Grown tobacco in the filler, alongside tobaccos from Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic. The bunch is then bound in a Nicaraguan habano leaf from the Jalapa region and wrapper in an Ecuadorian habano 2000 capa.
Davidoff Exclusive Tampa Florida Sun Grown is priced at $27 per cigar and comes in 10-count boxes.
It becomes the third limited edition Davidoff cigar for the Tampa store and the second Davidoff to use Florida Sun Grown tobacco. The first store exclusive debuted in late 2015 as part of the store’s opening, while a second blend was released in the spring of 2017. Like those two releases, the box of this third release features the Tampa skyline in black and gold.
In Sept. 2016, Davidoff produced a limited edition cigar for Borysiewicz’s Corona Cigar Co. in celebration of the store’s 20th anniversary. The Davidoff Exclusive Corona FSG 20th Anniversary is also a 6 x 52 belicoso that uses Florida Sun Grown tobacco in the filler, though with a Mexican San Andrés Negro binder and Ecuadorian Connecticut Rojiza wrapper.
