Villiger Cigars is giving its La Libertad look a new design, most notably adding the Villiger name to the band.
Nothing about the blend or production changes, with the cigar using a Brazilian wrapper over Nicaraguan and Dominican fillers. Ir remains available in four sizes, priced between $6 and $7 and all offered in 20-count boxes.
- La Libertad Robusto (5 x 52)
- La Libertad Torpedo Box Pressed (5 1/2 x 52)
- La Libertad Churchill (6 1/2 x 50)
- La Libertad Masivo (6 x 60)
It is made at the ABAM Factory in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, and the new look will begin shipping to retailers in the coming week or so.
This is the second time in the last two years that the packaging has been changed. In Jan. 2018, Villiger gave the boxes an updated design to better match the bands as well as what it called a sleeker design.
I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury, the G-League's Valley Suns, and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for Major League Baseball, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
