This month, cigar smokers in Switzerland will get the chance to light up a new VegaFina release created just for them, the VegaFina Inmensos.

The cigar, the first limited edition VegaFina made for Switzerland, measures 6 3/8 inches (162mm) long and has a 56 ring gauge and is a new size for the brand’s portfolio. While the Inmensos would be a fitting name for the size, the cigar is named for “the grandeur of the Swiss Alps, its people, culture and traditions,” according to a press release from Intertabak AG, which is distributing the cigar.

It uses the same blend as the VegaFina Classic line, meaning an Ecuadorian wrapper over a Nicaraguan binder and fillers from the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua. The tobacco used in the cigar was aged for two years prior to being rolled into cigars, with production handled by Tabacalera de García in La Romana, Dominican Republic.

The cigars will go on sale in Swiss cigar shops on April 16, with pricing set at CHF 325 ($359.22) for a box of 25 cigars, which works out to about $14.37 per cigar. Production is limited to 4,000 individually numbered boxes.

This is the ninth exclusive limited edition that VegaFina has created, a group that includes the Patriot that was created for the United States in 2023.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for Major League Baseball, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
