The majority of VegaFina cigars are not offered in the U.S., but for the first time in the brand’s history, there is a VegaFina that is being made exclusively for the American market.

It’s called the VegaFina Exclusivo USA Patriot, and it begins shipping on Sept. 5, 2023. Specs-wise, it’s a 6 x 54 toro extra that uses an Ecuadorian wrapper over a Nicaraguan binder and fillers from the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua. As is often the case with VegaFina cigars, the Exclusivo USA has been aged, this time for two years.

The MSRP is set at $13 per cigar and it is limited to 1,776 boxes of 10 cigars.

Like most VegaFinas, it is being made at Tabacalera de García in La Romana, Dominican Republic.

VegaFina is a brand that is part of Tabacalera S.L.U., the Spanish sister company to Altadis U.S.A. While the company and its related distributors typically focus on selling Cuban cigars outside of the U.S., VegaFina is a non-Cuban brand with an international focus. Occasionally, Altadis U.S.A. will import and sell VegaFinas in the U.S. market, but the vast majority of VegaFina lines are never sold in the U.S.

Update (Aug. 24, 2023) — Altadis U.S.A. announced that this cigar would ship on Aug. 18, which is what this story originally said. The company has now clarified that it is shipping on Sept. 5.
