Ozgener Family Cigars

The Pi Synesthesia Red is designed to be spicier than the original version.

The name of the line is a reference to Mount Ararat, a dormant volcano located near the borders of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Iran and Turkey.

It’s Ozgener Family Cigars’ second PCA Convention & Trade Show. While it might sound like the company is “new,” the person behind it is definitively not new to the cigar industry. This year’s focus is the Aramas, which began shipping in May, and a new Pi Synesthesia.

Pi Synesthesia Red is supposed to taste like the color red. Expect spice and strength.

Originally expected to be on shelves in April, the Aramas is now heading to stores.

Aramas will be the company’s second regular production line.

In previous years there was always a plethora of new cigar companies popping up, usually quite evident by looking at my to-do list for booth coverage at the PCA Convention and Trade Show. More recently, there has been a dearth of new companies, with 2022 being no exception.

The line had been made at Tabacalera Pichardo in Nicaragua prior to the move.

Tim Ozgener, the former head of CAO, has returned to the cigar industry. Bosphorus is one of Ozgener’s two debut blends for his second act.

Pi Synesthesia is also the name of an art series by the late Cano A. Ozgener, the founder of CAO.

More than 10 years after he left the cigar industry, Tim Ozgener is back and showing off his new company —along with two debut blends—named Ozgener Family Cigars.
