Citing retailer and consumer preferences for smaller box counts, the company has changed from 25-count boxes to 15-count. The blends remain the same, as does the design of the packaging.

Gurkha will once again celebrate the Lunar New Year with a trio of cigars produced by three other companies. Additionally, Gurkha is helping raise funds for Folds of Honor with the Volition America line.

After working together on a Year of the Snake release, Gurkha and Oscar Valladares team up for a new limited edition. It’s a Honduran puro slated to ship in January.

The series wraps up with a Honduran puro from Oscar Valladares. Juan Lopez of Gurkha Cigar Group said this won’t be the last time the two companies work together.

After previously being available at TAA retailers, the line is now offered to all of Gurkha’s retailers. The line is also getting a new size as part of this wider release.

The third release in the series is a beefy Salomon with a blend that features a Mexican San Andrés wrapper and Cameroon binder. Like the other releases, it’s limited to 2,000 boxes.

Late last year, Gurkha filed a trademark lawsuit over Davidoff’s Limited Edition 2024 Year of the Dragon cigar. The two sides are also fighting a related legal dispute at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

The Gurkha 35th Anniversary line debuted in the fall of 2023, released in a 150-count humidor. Now, the three vitolas are available in 10-count boxes.

While Davidoff has gotten one of four counts removed, the case will continue.

This was first Chinese Zodiac calendar-themed release from Gurkha, but definitely not its last.
