Gurkha has begun shipping the Tyson 2.0 Undisputed lines, a new project that it created in collaboration with boxing legend Mike Tyson and LGNDS, a Miami-based hemp company with which Tyson has released a collection of hemp-based products.

Tyson 2.0 Undisputed is available in two blends, the Tyson 2.0 Undisputed Maduro and the Tyson 2.0 Undisputed Habano. The maduro comes in a black box and uses a Mexican San Andrés maduro wrapper, Cameroon binder and a filler of T13, corojo and broadleaf tobaccos, though countries of origin have not been disclosed. The habano version comes in a gold box and features an Ecuadorian habano wrapper, Indonesian binder, and a filler described as containing criollo 98 and Nicaraguan tobacco.

Both cigars are described as medium body, full flavor blends, with an announcement from Gurkha saying the Tyson 2.0 Undisputed Habano offers earthy notes with some pepper, toast, and spiciness, while the Tyson 2.0 Undisputed Maduro offers sweetness from the San Andres wrapper while drawing in dark chocolate and peppery spices.

Both blends are offered in two vitolas, a 6 x 54 toro gordo priced at $19 and a 7 x 60 gordo extra priced at $19.90. The cigars are being made by El Artista in the Dominican Republic.

“Our collaboration with Mike Tyson and his teams at LGNDS and Carma HoldCo is a very unique one,” said Jim Colucci, president of Gurkha Cigar Group, Inc., in a press release when the cigar was announced prior to the 2024 PCA Convention & Trade Show in March. “We believe we’ve chosen the perfect blends together to represent the Tyson 2.0 brand.”

“We are equally as excited about the collaboration with Gurkha Cigar Group,” said Sozon Lyras of LGNDS. “We look forward to launching this amongst many other future projects together under the Tyson 2.0 brand.”

The first run of cigars is limited to 2,000 boxes of each size, but a representative from Gurkha previously told halfwheel that it is expected that it will become a regular production line in the future.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for Major League Baseball, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
