The third installment of Gurkha’s Year of the Dragon collaboration series is on its way to stores, as the company has begun shipping the version made by Oliva Cigar Co.
It is a 6 1/2 x 60 salomon vitola that wears orange-hued bands and has a blend that uses a Mexican San Andrés wrapper, a Cameroon binder, and a Nicaraguan filler. It comes with an MSRP of $25 per cigar and $250 for a box of 10 cigars.
This joins the previous two releases, which were made by AJ Fernandez and E.P. Carrillo. The fourth and final installment in the series, which is made by Oscar Valladares, is scheduled to be released before fall. Each of the blends is limited to 2,000 boxes of 10 cigars.
Smoke Inn, a South Florida retailer, sold a limited number of five-packs that included one each of the five releases as part of its Great Smoke 2024 event in February.
Gurkha released its first cigar celebrating the Zodiac New Year in December, releasing the Gurkha Year of the Dragon, a limited edition of 15,000 cigars produced by Tabacalera El Artista. It announced the series of collaborations in January 2024.
