TAA Retailers Getting Box-Pressed Asylum 13 Next Week

Next week, retailers part of the Tobacconists’ Association of America (TAA) will be receiving a new Asylum 13.

Like many of Asylum’s most popular cigars, the Asylum 13 TAA is a 7 x 70, though this release will be box-pressed, a first for the company.

Christian Eiroa, one of the partners in Asylum, declined to talk specifics of the release. Retailers told halfwheel they expect the cigar to arrive late next week.

Pricing is set at $8.15 per cigar and it will come in 30-count boxes.

The TAA is a fairly small group of some of the country’s top tobacconists, about 80 retailers as well as 40 or so manufacturers. The association gathers annually to discuss issues facing the industry and retailers, as well as to have its annual trade show, a unique event that works on a group buying format in order to secure exclusive deals for these generally high-volume merchants.

In recent years, many of those manufacturers have made exclusive cigars for the organization.

Alec Bradley, Crowned Heads, Kristoff, La Flor Dominicana, La Palina and Tatuaje have also announced their 2017 TAA releases Asylum will be the second company to release their 2017 TAA release following My Father.
