Today, during Smoke Inn’s The Great Smoke, a new size of the Rocky Patel ALR Second Edition available to ticket holders.

The size is a 5 3/4 x 50/58 belicoso that is double capped. It starts as a 50 ring gauge cigar at the top of the cigar but expands to 58 ring gauge at the foot. The foot then receives a cap, similar to the top of the cigar, but a small hole is pre-punched into the foot to allow for easier ignition. Viaje did something similar with its early Zombie releases.

Rocky Patel makes this vitola in another line, the Tabaquero by Hamlet Paredes Bala.

In addition to the unique size, this cigar is round while the other ALR Second Edition sizes are box-pressed. It does, however, use the same blend: a Mexican San Andrés wrapper over a Nicaraguan binder and fillers from two regions in Nicaragua.

Only 100 boxes of 10 cigars were made available during the event, which is taking place virtually today. A representative from Smoke Inn did not respond to questions about the pricing of the cigar.
