The Rocky Patel Aged Limited Rare Second Edition is on its way to retailers, the company has announced.

As the company tells the story, the cigars were blended by Rocky in 2016 and then left in the aging room of the TAVICUSA factory in Estelí to rest. They use a Mexican San Andrés wrapper, over a Nicaraguan binder and filler, the latter coming from the company’s Estelí and Jalapa regions.

Like the previous ALR, it is being released in three sizes, each limited to 40,000 cigars:

  • Rocky Patel ALR Second Edition Robusto (5 1/2 x 52) — $13 (Box of 20, $260)
  • Rocky Patel ALR Second Edition Toro (6 1/2 x 52) — $14 (Box of 20, $280)
  • Rocky Patel ALR Second Edition Gordo (6 x 60) — $15 (Box of 20, $300)

Chief among the differences are that these cigars are box-pressed and come with different packaging.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for Major League Baseball, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
