The first three Powstanie SBCs have all shipped to stores in even-numbered years, but the fourth one is expected to arrive later this year, breaking the established pattern.
While there was not an SBC that shipped to stores last year, there will be an SBC 22. Like the first three SBCs, it’s a 5 1/2 x 46 corona gorda. Blend details and pricing are still unknown, but it is limited to 500 boxes of 20 cigars. Mike Szczepankewicz, co-founder of Powstanie, told halfwheel that he expects the SBC 22 to ship in Q4 of 2023.
Update (Nov. 16, 2023) — Powstanie has announced that the SBC 22 will go on sale at a Dec. 9 event at Smoke on the Water in Weston, Fla. The following week, it will begin shipping to other retailers.
The MSRP is set at $17 per cigar and production is limited to 500 boxes of 20 cigars. The blend is not being disclosed.
“This could possibly be the greatest blend Skip has ever created,” said Szczepankewicz in a press release.
A picture posted Skip Martin, shows cigars that have some purple accents in the band and the familiar modified barberpole design, which uses two wrappers, though one of them is much more visible than the other. Martin is the co-owner of Fábrica de Tabacos Nica Sueño S.A., the Nicaraguan factory that makes Powstanie.
