The two new Powstanie Corona Gordas announced earlier this year will go on sale on May 19.
Pospiech, Inc.—the distribution company that shares ownership with Powstanie—has announced that it will release the cigars at a May 19 event at Hogshead Cigar Lounge in Fredericksburg, Va.
The Powstanie Corona Gordas are offered in the company’s Broadleaf and Habano blends. Both cigars measure 5 1/2 x 46. The Habano version uses an Ecuadorian habano wrapper, Indonesian binder and Dominican criollo, Estelí ligero and other tobaccos from Condega and Jalapa as fillers, whereas the Broadleaf uses a broadleaf maduro wrapper, Indonesian binder and Estelí ligero, Jalapa and Pueblo Nuevo tobaccos in the filler. Powstanie’s cigars are made at Fábrica de Tabacos Nica Sueño S.A. in Estelí, Nicaragua.
The Broadleaf has an MSRP of $12 per cigar, while the Habano is priced at $11.90 per cigar. Each cigar comes in boxes of 21. While both cigars are regular production additions to the company’s portfolio, the first shipment is limited to 350 boxes.
“We’re thrilled to finally bring the Powstanie Corona Gorda Habano and Broadleaf to our loyal customers,” said Mike Szczepankiewicz, co-founder of Powstanie, in a press release. “We’ve been blown away by the response from the cigar community, and we’re excited to share this release with everyone at Hogshead Cigar Lounge. We believe that our commitment to working closely with our retail partners has paid off, and we’re confident that cigar enthusiasts will appreciate the quality and craftsmanship of these cigars.”
The cigars will begin shipping to stores nationwide during the week of May 22.
