Crux Cigars is one of those companies that knows what it does best. The company debuted during the 2014 IPCPR Convention & Trade Show, and since then, has undergone a host of changes, including a major rebranding that changed its core logo and the packaging of its brands in 2019.

The company’s booth is the same as last year and essentially the same as it was when it debuted during the 2019 IPCPR Convention & Trade Show, including a large logo banner suspended above the structure itself. There is likely no rush to change much about the booth after it won the Attendee Choice Best in Show award for Small Booths in 2021.

Crux added at least one new member to its trade show team this year, a smart choice considering the large amount of foot traffic I noted flowing in and out of the company’s booth every time I walked past.

Crux Epicure Habano

While this cigar—one of the company’s most popular brands—was technically introduced at last year’s PCA show, it did not actually start shipping until last month. The internal blend remains the same as the other two Epicure lines, but the newest cigar includes a slightly modified band design.

I have worn many hats in my life up to this point: I started out as a photojournalist for the Dallas Morning News and the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, then transitioned to photographing weddings—both internationally and in the U.S.—for more than a decade. After realizing that there was a need for a cigar website containing better photographs and more in-depth information about each release, I founded my first cigar blog, SmokingStogie, in 2008. SmokingStogie quickly became one of the more influential cigar blogs on the internet, known for reviewing preproduction, prerelease, rare, extremely hard-to-find and expensive cigars, and it was one of the predecessors to halfwheel, which I co-founded.
