This year marks the 20th anniversary of the Macanudo Gold Label, a seasonal release from General Cigar Co. To mark the occasion, General is releasing a new size that the company says will only be sold in 2022.

The Macanudo Gold Label Gran Pyramid is a 6 x 52 belicoso that uses the same blend as the rest of the Gold Label vitolas: a Connecticut shade wrapper over a Mexican San Andrés binder and filler tobaccos that include Dominican piloto cubano and Mexican leaves. Like most Macanudo cigars, Gold Label is produced at General Cigar Dominicana in Santiago de los Caballeros in the Dominican Republic.

It will have an MSRP of $11.29 and will be sold in boxes of 24. General Cigar Co. does not disclose how many cigars are sold as part of its Gold Label releases, but this year’s cigar will be sold to retailers from May 1 until July 29 or whenever the inventory is sold.

There will be eight sizes offered to stores this year, all are sold in boxes of 25 with the exception of the Crystal—which is sold in boxes of eight—and the Gran Pyramid.

  • Macanudo Gold Label Gold Pyramid (5 x 54) — $10.49 (Box of 25, $262.25)
  • Macanudo Gold Label Duke of York (5 1/4 x 54) — $10.49 (Box of 25, $262.25)

  • Macanudo Gold Label Crystal (5 1/2 x 50) — $11.29 (Box of 8, $90.32)
  • Macanudo Gold Label Tudor (6 x 52) — $10.99 (Box of 25, $274.25)
  • Macanudo Gold Label Gran Pyramid (6 x 52) — $11.29 (Box of 24, $270.96)
  • Macanudo Gold Label Shakespeare (6 1/2 x 45) — $10.29 (Box of 25, $257.25)
  • Macanudo Gold Label Lord Nelson (7 x 49) — $11.29 (Box of 25, $282.25)

“Even after twenty years, the anticipation continues to build for the annual release of Macanudo Gold Label,” said Laurel Tilley, Macanudo’s brand ambassador, in a press release. “This speaks to the allure of Gold Label’s mellow blend and the unique creamy notes it delivers. Whether it’s paired or savored on its own, this cigar makes for a great indulgence. I’m looking forward to enjoying it with fellow cigar smokers across the country.”
