For the third consecutive year, J.C. Newman and Brizard & Co. are teaming up for a limited edition cigar case.
Like last year’s case, The American Limited Edition Leather Case 2024 uses bison leather from Ted Turner’s Turner Bison Program in Montana. As with the first two cases, it’s a three-cigar case that comes with three of The American cigars. Unlike the first two cases—which featured leather on the exterior of both the top and bottom sections—the top section of this case is made from American walnut.
The MSRP is set at $300 per case, which includes three cigars that have been aged for three years, and production is limited to 250 numbered cases. J.C. Newman says it will ship these cases in November.
The American is the brainchild of Drew Newman, who wanted to create an all-American cigar. Blend-wise, it uses a Florida Sun Grown wrapper from Jeff Borysiewicz’s tobacco farm in Clermont, Fla. The binder is Connecticut broadleaf from Foster Farms in Windsor, Conn., which also grows the Havana-seed tobacco used for the filler. There’s also Pennsylvania tobacco in the filler.
