Gurkha’s headlining new release from the 2023 PCA Convention & Trade Show is on its way to stores, as the company has begun shipping its 35th Anniversary Commemorative Humidor.

The Gurkha 35th Anniversary line uses an Ecuadorian habano wrapper, and Indonesian binder, and Nicaraguan criollo 98 tobacco from Estelí in the filler. The cigars are produced by Tabacalera El Artista in Tamboril, Dominican Republic.

Each 150-count humidor comes with 75 cigars, with 25 of each of the three vitolas in the 35th Anniversary line:

  • Gurkha 35th Anniversary Figurado (6 3/4 x 52)
  • Gurkha 35th Anniversary Toro (6 x 54)
  • Gurkha 35th Anniversary Torpedo (6 1/8 x 52)

Pricing is set at $850 for the humidor. Production numbers have not been disclosed.

The company is also planning on releasing the three vitolas in 10-count boxes later this year or in early 2024, with pricing between $10.95 and $11.95 per cigar in that packaging format.

Update (Nov. 8, 2023) — A representative of the company told halfwheel that the 10-count boxes have now been slated for release at the 2024 PCA Convention & Trade Show.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for Major League Baseball, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
