E.P. Carrillo’s Perez-Carrillo Encore line is adding a 5 x 50 robusto vitola called El Futuro that is slated to begin shipping to retailers this week.
Announcing the new size via Cigar Aficionado, the robusto will measure 5 inches long and have a 50 ring gauge, and will come with an MSRP of $11.90 per cigar. The company is limiting the initial release to 1,000 boxes of 10 cigars, but said that production will increase over the summer as it plans to take more orders for it at the 2022 PCA Convention & Trade Show in July.
The Encore line debuted in 2018 and is a Nicaraguan puro that is made at the company’s Tabacalera La Alianza factory in Santiago, Dominican Republic. El Futuro becomes the fifth regular production size in the line, which has also had two limited editions:
