The Canary Islands has its second La Casa del Habano store after Dominique London recently opened the La Casa del Habano Gran Canaria.

The store, which is located in the popular tourist location of Puerto Rico de Gran Canaria, Las Palmas, opened on May 30 and features an extensive walk-in humidor, client lockers, and what is described as a “comfortable sampling area.” The store is planning to offer a program of cigar events in the coming weeks and months.

“The Canary Islands have a tradition for fine cigars and we are very proud to open the second La Casa del Habano on the Island,” said Mitchell Orchant, Dominique London’s chief commercial officer, in a press release. “Gran Canaria has long offered draws that attract tourists from all over the world. Dominique Gyselinck and I will be delighted to meet the cigar needs of visitors to the island as well as serve the local community.”

“We will continue to look for further opportunities to broaden the reach of Dominique London,” said Frédéric Dechamps, Dominique London’s ceo. “With respect to Gran Canaria, much thanks is due to Habanos S.A. for all of their support as we seek to service cigar communities throughout Europe and the world over.”

Dominique London operates 25 other cigar stores throughout the UK, Belgium, Switzerland and the Canary Islands, several of which are La Casa del Habano locations.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury, the G-League's Valley Suns, and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for Major League Baseball, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
