Casa Magna D. Magnus II Hadrian Introduced As TAA Exclusive

The recent string of oddly-snapped cigars from Quesada continues, now as a TAA exclusive.

Next month at the annual Tobacconists’ Association of America (TAA) Meeting & Convention, Quesada Cigars will present the Casa Magna D. Magnus II Hadrian. It’s a 5 1/2 x 60 cigar that is box-pressed near the head and foot, but round in the middle—in some ways the opposite of the company’s Salomon Press, which is round at the ends and pressed in the middle.

The cigar will ship next month with a suggested retail price of $8.50 per cigar, or $85 per box of 10. The Hadrian will be limited to 1,000 boxes of 10.

“TAA consists of an elite group of retailers and we haven’t made anything specifically for them in many years,” said Terence Reilly, general manager of Quesada Cigars, to halfwheel. “It was a priority to change that this year and we are proud to announce there will be an exclusive size of D. Magnus II for TAA available this April.”

Hadrian continues two different themes for the D. Magnus II line. Its name refers to a Roman emperor, a trait all recent extensions to the line have had. In addition, it’s another odd size. The D. Magnus II line has included cigars that are shaped like the capital letter D, Bic lighters and more.

The D. Magnus II line is made at Plasencia Cigars S.A. in Estelí, Nicaragua. It’s a Nicaraguan puro with a sun grown wrapper from Jalapa.

The TAA consists of roughly 80 retailers from around the country. A variety of exclusive cigars are now made for members, some of which are offered annually, while others are offered only once, at the group’s meeting. That meeting takes place April 12-16 at Casa de Campo in La Romana, Dominican Republic.
