Each year, Asylum releases a new limited edition that celebrates the company’s anniversary. This year marks the 12th anniversary of the founding of the brand and now, the new Asylum 12 is shipping to stores.

As it has done with previous Asylum Anniversary releasesthis series started with the seventh anniversary—there will be two sizes:

  • Asylum 12 11/18 (6 x 48/54/48) — $21.60 (Box of 20, $432)
  • Asylum 12 70 x 7 (7 x 70) — $26.60 (Box of 20, $532)

Previously, the individual cigars have come packed in coffins, but this year the cigars are being sold in tubos. Blend-wise, the only thing that has been disclosed is that binder and filler include tobacco from the CLE farms in an unnamed South American country.

“We felt that we could better improve on the presentation of the Asylum 12,” said Tom Lazuka, co-founder of Asylum, in a press release. “The Asylum 12 2024 will be housed in cigar tubes. Cigar tubes provide an upgrade aesthetically, while also better protecting the cigars.”

The Asylum 12 was actually shown off a year ago, during the 2023 PCA Convention & Trade Show. CLE previewed the cigars for retailers, though what was shown off utilized the coffins instead of the tubos.
