The 2023 edition of Asylum’s Anniversary Series is heading to stores.

It’s the Asylum 11—the 11 references the 11th anniversary of the brand—and it is radically different than the first four blends in the series. This year’s release is a barber pole that uses a Mexican San Andrés and habano wrappers over Honduran tobacco for both the finder and fillers. The first four blends in the series are believed to be Honduran puros.

Barber pole wrappers refers to a process by which two wrappers, typically of different colors, are rolled together at a slight angle to produce an alternating design that looks like the stripes of a barber’s pole.

The Asylum 11 is offered in the same two vitolas as the other Asylum Anniversary Series cigars:

  • Asylum 11 11/18 (6 x 48/54/48) — $21 (Box of 20, $420)
  • Asylum 11 70 x 7 (7 x 70) — $26 (Box of 20, $520)

As with the previous releases, each cigar comes in a coffin.

“The Asylum brand is known for and will continue to be known for its unique blends,” said Tom Lazuka, co-founder of Asylum, in a press release. “We are excited to bring the Asylum 11 2023 to our loyal customers.”

For those curious about the next release in the series, CLE Cigar Co. has already shown off the Asylum 12 which will be released next year.
