Report: Premium Cigar Imports Near 2022 Levels Through Q3 2023

Last year, there were a record number of premium cigars imported into the U.S. The general consensus talking to cigar companies is that 2023 has been very strong but maybe not as good as last year. The Cigar Association of America (CAA) released its Q3 numbers that showed that the gap between 2022 and 2023 is shrinking and there’s a possibility that this year might exceed it. It seems like that’s more unlikely than likely, but the fact that it’s a possibility caught me off guard.

I am an editor and co-founder of halfwheel.com/Rueda Media, LLC. I previously co-founded and published TheCigarFeed, one of the two predecessors of halfwheel. I have written about the cigar industry for more than a decade, covering everything from product launches to regulation to M&A. In addition, I handle a lot of the behind-the-scenes stuff here at halfwheel. I enjoy playing tennis, watching boxing, falling asleep to the Le Mans 24, wearing sweatshirts year-round and eating gyros. echte liebe.
