The VegaFina Nicaragua will soon get a sister line of sorts called the VegaFina Nicaragua Reserva.

Somewhat confusingly, both blends are made entirely of Nicaraguan tobaccos that have been aged, but neither the blends nor the aging process is the same. Interestingly, the tobaccos used for the regular VegaFina Nicaragua is actually aged longer—four years—than the new VegaFina Nicaragua Reserva, which is aged for at least three years before rolling. It is rolled at Tabacalera de García in La Romana, Dominican Republic.

The end result is a single 6 x 48 parejo size known as “maestros” that features a pigtail cap.

It will go on sale this month in Spain with an MSRP of €6.70 ($6.66) per cigar and will also be sold in other markets where VegaFina is offered, except for the U.S. In Germany, the cigar will retail for €10.50 ($10.43) and in Switzerland it will be CHF 11.50 ($11.54).

Production is limited to 8,000 boxes of 12 cigars.

Update (Nov. 10, 2022) — The original version of this story incorrectly stated that both the VegaFina Nicaragua and VegaFina Nicaragua Reserva are the same blends.
