After being announced about six months ago and getting a preview at both TPE 2024 and the 2024 PCA Convention & Trade Show, the Vector Switch is getting its official release today.

The Vector Switch is notable for giving consumers the ability to pick which kind of cutter they would like to have attached to their lighter: a serrated straight cut or a v-cut. The choice is made via a pair of retractable pins that allow the two options to be removed and swapped out. Both cutter options come with the lighter, with the v-cut the one initially attached to the body.

Beyond the interchangeable cutter options, the Switch offers a dual-flame torch operated via a single-action, two-paneled lid, with the two flames angled toward each other to create a merging point. It measures 2.6 x 1.45 inches, while the width varies based on the cutter option. The straight cutter is more compact and when attached, the Switch measures 0.77 inches; the v-cutter extends that to 0.91 inches.

The Vector Switch is available in five colors: nickel satin, gunmetal satin, black matte, blue matte and chrome satin. The two cutter options come in black and gunmetal, with the specific cutter and color combination depending on which color of the body is chosen.

As part of the launch, the Switch is being offered at $60, though the official MSRP if $75. The company has not yet said when the price will increase.

I strive to capture the essence of a cigar and the people behind them in my work – every cigar you light up is the culmination of the work of countless people and often represents generations of struggle and stories. For me, it’s about so much more than the cigar – it’s about the story behind it, the experience of enjoying the work of artisans and the way that a good cigar can bring people together. In addition to my work with halfwheel, I’m the public address announcer for the Colorado Rockies and Arizona Diamondbacks during spring training, as well as for the Salt River Rafters of the Arizona Fall League, the WNBA's Phoenix Mercury, the G-League's Valley Suns, and previously the Arizona Rattlers of the Indoor Football League. I also work in a number of roles for Major League Baseball, plus I'm a voice over artist. Prior to joining halfwheel, I covered the Phoenix and national cigar scene for Examiner.com, and was an editor for Cigar Snob magazine.
