While this blend debuted in 2021, the past year or so was the coming out party for the Mi Querida Black.

The blend first went on sale in November 2021 as the Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust Limited Edition “EM” Maduro, an exclusive for JR Cigar as part of the retailer’s 50th anniversary. In 2022, Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust released that exact cigar under a different name—SakaKhan—and as a limited edition item that would be offered to all of its retailers.

For 2022, the Mi Querida Black SakaKhan finished #11 on halfwheel’s Top 25 and #1 on The Consensus

The accolades aren’t stopping: it won halfwheel’s innagurual Readers’ Choice Award, and now it’s cracked the Top 10 on our Top 25.

PapaSaka (5 5/8 x 48) solved my one issue with SakaKhan (7 1/4 x 54)—I sometimes don’t have three hours to smoke a cigar. With the smaller size, I found notes of nuttiness, milk chocolate, creaminess and accents of pepper, somewhat similar to Patrick Lagreid’s review. All four of us found two great aspects: a rich blend that wasn’t too overpowering and near-flawless construction. – Charlie Minato.
