In 2016 Perdomo brought back the Estate Selección Vintage line, which was originally released in 2005 as a tribute to Nick Perdomo Sr. who had passed away the year before. As with many Perdomo lines, it came in three wrappers—Ecuadorian Connecticut, Nicaraguan maduro and Nicaraguan sun grown—and was released in five sizes.

In 2019 the ESV is back, but this time the release featured a box-pressed treatment. The company says ESV only uses the top 3 percent of the company’s tobacco, using secos and ligeros from the first harvest at Finca Natalie for the binder and filler. The 2019 version of the ESV featured a complex profile that not only offered a plethora of flavors, but ones that worked well together. While the line is technically limited production, with almost a million cigars made across the five sizes and three wrappers, it shouldn’t be hard to get your hands on them. — Brian Burt.
