The 2018 version of the Tatauaje TAA has begun shipping.

This is the second TAA exclusive release to ship following the group’s annual meeting which took place earlier this month.

The Tatuaje TAA 50th is a 5 x 52 robusto that uses a Connecticut broadleaf wrapper over a Nicaraguan binder and Nicaraguan fillers. The name is a reference to the Tobacconists’ Association of America’s (TAA) 50th anniversary.

Pricing is set at $11.95 per cigar and production is limited to 2,500 boxes of 20 cigars.

The TAA is a fairly small group of some of the country’s top tobacconists, about 80 retailers as well as 40 or so manufacturers. The association gathers annually to discuss issues facing the industry and retailers, as well as to have its annual trade show, a unique event that works on a group buying format in order to secure exclusive deals for these generally high-volume merchants.

In recent years, various manufacturers have made exclusive cigars for the group.

This is the second of those releases to ship for 2018 following the CAO Estelí.
